9 Days

Jen’s home rehab got off to a rocky start. High temps, an infected catheter, fatigue, and spiraling surgical pain got in her way.

Jen’s fever and infection are under control, but they took a toll, sapping her energy.

Despite not being able to walk very far, Jen kept up with her in-bed and seated exercises, standing up often.

Over time Jen‘s work paid off. She now walks frequently, increasing the distance a little more ever day. Jen impressed her in-home physical therapist (Bobby) yesterday with her improved muscle strength and mobility.

Our hope is to continue to improve so Jen can walk (with her walker), get around comfortably in her wheelchair, get in and out of and travel by car.

Jen’s chemo therapy is tentatively scheduled to start in 9 days (Sept 14). Dr. Sarma wants her to do this 4-day round as an outpatient. So, being ambulatory is a priority.
