Amazing

Jen is amazing. Since we came home a week ago, her hospice doctor and nurses have been preparing us for what happens next. They told us to expect a day maybe two, but not to be surprised if we were only hours from saying goodbye.

They didn’t know Jen. Jen has defied expectations from the beginning. She has proven stronger than anyone thought possible, or dared to expect.

Except for spiking very high fevers twice, and two violent breathing episodes (Saturday and Sunday, at 10:00 pm both nights), she is resting comfortably.

Jen isn’t ready just yet. She will say goodbye in her time and on her terms.

  • Even experts cannot say “when,” because the physical body is the only thing we can measure…the spirit, the force, is immeasurable. And it is, perhaps, the stronger of the two.
So, still, your girl remains— surrounded by the ones who know and love her, feeling all the love of a lifetime washing over her, reviewing all the precious moments, listening to your voices, and being comforted by it all.
Yes, she will take it all in, wrap herself in it.
    On her terms.

  • I think you both are amazing. The aura of love and commitment is so strong that it reaches us all, and I hope we have been able to return at least a little bit of that to both of you, and especially to Jen. In this adversity she’s shown just how remarkable she really is. May all the love comfort and cradle her.

  • Johnny and I are staying with her dad and throughout the days and nights we reminisce about Jennifer and Stephen . We are grateful for all the wonderful moments that Jen has blessed our lives. And we are comforted by the outpouring of love and care and hope you know how deeply we love you both too.

  • There isn’t a more perfect word to describe her. She is truly amazing. She makes every person’s life she touches better. We are all blessed for knowing her. ❤️

  • She truly is an amazing woman. I’m hoping all the love shown on this blog helps bring the family some comfort in the coming weeks. Much love to you all.

  • You are both amazing and your love for each other carries you through. Continued prayers for strength, comfort and courage. Love you all!
