Jen’s Hemoglobin dropped again today. The initial reading of 6.9 was retested and came back 7.3. This is still down from yesterday’s 7.5 number. Dr. Angitipalli (the hospitalist) ordered a unit of blood, to get Jen’s levels up before her biopsy later this afternoon.

Jen’s doctors have not found the cause of her anemia. The initial possibilities being considered are the cancer (attacking her bone marrow), or a microscopic source of bleeding.

Dr. Angitipalli ordered more lab work and suggested additional CT scans to find the cause.
