Dr. Syed is excited about what he expects from Jen’s acetabular lesion ablation and cement procedure this afternoon. It is scheduled for 2:00. Including prep, measurements, and post-op recovery, it should take about six hours.
Dr. Syed talked to us about his expectations and goals: “After the procedure, you may feel great, but at the least you should feel good. The goal is pain relief, and transitioning from IV to oral meds.”
“Recovery is pretty quick. The procedural recovery is within a couple of hours.” But Dr. Syed wants Jen to “chill out for a day” before she tries standing and walking.
This procedure is a bridge to Jen’s hip replacement surgery in mid August. “The point of this is to get you to Dr. Wodajo where he can do something a little more definitive. Where we can add some structure to the acetabular. That’s really what our end game here is.”
Good luck!!
