Stent

Jen remembers hearing the song “Don’t Stop Believing” playing, before the anesthesia kicked in.

Yesterday’s embolization was successful. Dr. Mufti was able to reduce blood flow to the tumor — limiting potential blood loss for today’s surgery, and starving the tumor locally.

While repairable, the procedure was not without complications. After sealing the entry “nick” in the femoral artery (near Jen’s right hip) Dr. Mufti noticed some seepage. He had to enter the artery through her left groin (and followed it to the other side) to mend the leak with a “wrapped” ballon stent.

One of yesterday’s post-op nurses, Katie took very good care of Jen. Seeing she was not happy with her hospital dinner options, Katie made a run to Panera Bread. Jen had a Fuji apple chicken salad, a bowl of tomato soup and a passion fruit iced tea.

The stent will not affect Jen’s hip replacement surgery this morning. Pre-op begins around 8:45, and the surgery is scheduled to start around 10:45.

  • We will be praying and lifting up all Doctors and Nurse for a successful surgery and recovery. You and Stephen will be covered in prayer. God Bless and Good Luck.

  • Anything that starts with 80’s music has to end well! (Unless it’s an Eddie Money concert that ends with getting lost in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, but we won’t mention that!) All the good vibes being sent your way. ❤️

  • Sopranos fade to black on that song was awesome, hilarious that Jen got to hear that going under. 😂 Heal quickly, get strong💪🏻🙏🏻💐
