Dr. Wodajo (Orthopedic Surgeon) wants to transfer Jen to Inova Fairfax this weekend, where he plans to perform the first of two surgeries to repair the pathologic damage to her hips. He will do one side at a time. The first surgery is scheduled for this Tuesday afternoon. He wants Jen there this weekend so he can get her in for a pre-surgery procedure Monday (a pre-operative embolization).
The original plan was to do a partial reconstruction. After reviewing the latest CT scans, Dr. Wodajo feels a total hip replacement is necessary.
The hope is Dr. Wodajo’s surgical intervention will give Jen long-term pain relief and allow her to stand and walk. “That has to be achieved. That is not the same thing as guaranteeing it. But that is the fundamental goal.”
Operations seem to be coming fast and furious now. Just reading about it all makes my head spin. You are always in my thoughts and prayers and I’m imploring all the relevant saints I can remember to watch over you. I want your physical strength to catch up to your obvious mental strength.
