Transition

I have been home for a few days now, and am so happy to be here. It’s been a pretty smooth transition. Stephen and I have started making lists though, because every new conversation means at least one unanswered question.

This week also marks a new chapter in this crazy thing called life. Home health care begins. There will be both an in-home nurse visiting and physical therapy appointments. We meet with the pain management doctor from the oncology practice, and hopefully by the end of the week, the oncologist. Everyone is waiting for the pathology report so we can choose the best plan of attack. And I will then have my marching orders.

And I know at this point we both sound like broken records, but that “pretty smooth transition” I mentioned earlier would not have been possible without our amazing circle of friends. You jumped right in and helped with tasks both big and small. Everything from welcoming Mia into your home so we could focus on recovery to mowing our yard so Stephen could spend that time with me. Not to mention picking up much needed over the counter meds so we could come straight home from the hospital, driving out to get a new gel cushion that helps relieve my pain, cooking delicious meals for us to enjoy, and tackling our grocery shopping for the week.

We are so happy to have all of you in our corner.
