I met Jennifer back in the early 90’s when she first came to Virginia from Ohio to interview for an Assistant Art Director Job. Not only did she get the job she also met the love of her life Stephen and had the pleasure of working with him and loving him. Looking back on that time I now understand I witnessed a star shooting forth from Ohio into her Destiny with fate to meet her other shooting star Stephen who clearly was in the same orbit and same star cluster.
I remember taking Jennifer out to Chillies for dinner one Saturday night right after she arrived in Virginia. She clearly had fallen fast and hard for Stephen and was in that phase of misery and rapture not knowing what to do. I wasn’t the greatest consoler at that time having had my share of botched relationships. But I remember telling her to give Stephen time to sort things out. And sort they did!
Looking back on this time it is a privilege and a beautiful thing to witness love blossom and bloom. The first law of Thermodynamics states energy cannot be destroyed. Love is an energy. Jennifer was a Super Nova Star. Her light, love and energy will continue to live on. She will continue to show Stephen and her family and friends her light. Just like the stars in the sky do for us long after their bodies have burned away and yet, the light continues to shine on. And so will Jen.
My deepest empathy goes out to Stephen, Jen’s Family, Stephen’s Family and all your dear friends at this time of deep loss.
