Good news! Jen’s pneumonia is under control and she is off supplemental oxygen. Her lungs sound good and her pulse ox is between 98 and 100.
Infectious disease doctor Sarfraz Choudhary offered Jen this advice with the “all clear” results from her latest set of chest X-rays: “People who make plans live longer.”
A Zabar’s picnic lunch, a warm sunny day, taking in the natural beauty at Sky Meadows State Park in Delaplane, Virginia. Just one of the things we’re looking forward to once Jen’s pain and hips are stabilized. Then the beach.
Jen has a procedure scheduled for this week that may get us one step closer to that picnic lunch. Wednesday, Dr. Syed (vascular and interventional radiology) will use “acetabular lesion ablation and cementing” to stabilize Jen’s hips. The ablation destroys the pain causing cancer cells, and clears the area for cement. The cement will be used as a filler where Jen’s pelvis is fractured and fragmented, providing structural support. If successful, Jen should feel significant relief in her left hip, and at least a 50% pain reduction in the right.
Your afternoon plans sound wonderful and simple and I pray you get to fulfill them soon🌞 I’m so happy to hear there is pain relief in sight. You are starting to sound like a construction site 😂 cement, metal and the endurance of a skyscraper. Always in my thoughts and prayers Jen 💐
Those plans sound perfectly awesome. Who doesn’t love a picnic? This news made a good weekend even better.
I have to admit to checking this blog, not just daily, but many times a day when there are no updates. I think about Jen often throughout the day and was glad to see the good news that the pneumonia responded to treatment. One hurdle over—yay!
Yes, plans must be made! Hoping that the docs can alleviate the hip pain so you can get to your plans to enjoy the many splendors of summer—blue skies, sandy toes, salty air…ice cream! Nothing beats spending quality time outdoors, surrounded by nature, being with your love.
Thinking of you both!
PRAYING THAT YOU WILL HAVE YOUR PICNIC VERY SOON! SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD PLAN TO ME! GLAD THEY ARE GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR PAIN. JUST KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND GET BETTER SOON! YOU ARE A FIGHTER.
LOVE YOU BOTH!

Hallelujah!! I’ve been thinking about you everyday, ALL day—Waiting for you to get home so you can pack the Jeep for the picnic! 💯❤️🍾🥂…I’ll even buy you some fruit 😝🍐🍊🍇🍉🍑🍒🍍…and the beach will not be far behind! 🏖
Awesome plans! Glad you are on the way to it 🙂
Hearing you have plans that don’t involve anything health care related is music to my ears! Yes, you both definitely deserve a day of sunshine, fresh air, a picnic and time to clear your mind and soul. Sounds like solid plans to help with the pain relief with your hips. Prayers that all the procedures go smoothly and are successful. You are in my thoughts frequently every single day and I’m sending as much love out there to you as I can. ❤️
Sounds like things are finally looking up for the two of you. Thinking of you all the time. We love you both and wish you only the best.
Italy!!! Nuff said!
So happy to hear this!!! I cannot tell you how often you 2 are on our minds! Soon all the pain will be a distant memory and you will be sitting on that beach celebrating after the picnic of course! I have a great memory of a picnic in Harpers Ferry … love you guys!
