Jen had her first Chemo treatment today. This cycle will take four days, done in six parts. Day one (today) took 15 minutes. Jen did fine, but felt a little lightheaded and tired afterward. Day two (tomorrow) will take a 1/2 hour, days three and four (Sunday and Monday) will both have two parts and last 3-1/2 hours each.
The post surgery and oncology departments are on the same floor, so Jen was reunited with some of the nurses and staff — friends she made when she was here last month.
“Welcome back!” was the message on the patient whiteboard, greeting Jen when she arrived.
After catching up and getting her settled in last night, Kathleen (the charge nurse) talked to Jen about the breaks in her hips. She was shocked. She said the scans from the previous month showed no signs of fracture.
Dr. Dar says Jen’s next session (tomorrow) should start around the same time as today’s, 4:00 pm.
Hey Jenn, Man I missed reading your blog for a few days and look what happened. Your head must be spinning with the changes. I’m so glad your friend arranged safe and comfortable transportation. What a blessing! Shanda said Stephen can stay with you this time. Hope that is still the case. It’s obvious how much he loves and cares for you and there’s no place he’d rather be than by your side. I hate that you’re still hurting so much. Hoping and praying that the chemo will kick this cancer’s butt! Remember, you are stronger than you think you are! Love you, Kel!😘😘🙏🏻🙏🏻
