Yesterday’s radiation session (Jen’s first) was not pleasant. Transferring her from a wheelchair to the positioning table was awkward and painful.
It took a “breakthrough” dose of dilaudid, a couple of PCAs (patient controlled analgesia) and two .5mg doses of Ativan to get Jen’s hip and spinal pain under control enough to complete her session.
Today’s treatment went much better. The Pallative Care Nurse made sure Jen was medicated before she was transported in and transferred from her hospital bed to radiation. The radiation staff was caring and gentle. Today’s session went smoothly and was over in a flash.
The radiation therapist said Jen may notice pain relief from her treatments after she completes four sessions.
Go away pain leave Jen alone, she doesn’t need the pain.
Anyway my thoughts are with you.
Thinking of you Jennifer. Every day, all the time.
Thank goodness there’s a light at the end of the pain tunnel. Thinking of you always Jen and Stephen 💐
Sorry to hear about the rough start to the radiation. At least now the road will be smoother. Praying for the pain relief to kick in. Love you friend. ❤️
Stay strong Jen thinking of you often. As Rob Snider says in every Adam Sandler movie “you can do it”
Two down! You’ll be home soon!
“gentle and caring” and “over in a flash” are great! Hope the next round is even smoother 🙂
PRAYING FOR THE PAIN TO SUBSIDE!
IT CAN LEAVE YOU AT ANY TIME NOW!
YOU DON’T NEED IT ANY MORE,
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!
GO AWAY AND DON’T COME BACK!
MAY THE REST OF YOUR RADIATION TREATMENTS
GO SMOOTHLY AND WITH LESS PAIN.
LOVE YOU,
AUNT JOANNE & UNCLE DENNY
So glad the second day went much more smoothly than the first! Hang in there, Jen! We’re all rooting for you! Lifting you both in prayer every day.
Think of you guys every day! Thoughts and prayers are always with you two and with family who can’t be there… Jen I can’t imagine the difficulty you are going through but so glad Stephen is able to be with you! You are doing so great!!! Keep on keeping on one day at a time girl!!!
Love ya!
Jennifer, I echo Dana’s note. Thinking and praying for you every day. I can’t imagine what you are having to endure, but so glad your man is by your side.
Sending love your way!
Beth
Dear Jen, you are on my mind and heart every minute of every day! Please know we are praying continually! Hoping and praying radiation, chemotherapy, medication, a combination, and God will relieve your pain and allow healing to begin! We love you! 💝
