We expect that the conversations we have with Jen’s doctors this week will reveal some hard truths, and mark the beginning of the next part of our journey.
It’s a lot. Today we have a consult with Dr. Sarma, Jen’s oncologist to discuss her pathology results and recommendations for treatment. Later we are expecting a visit from Lisa, Jen’s in-home nurse. She will drop off a wheelchair, to make getting to our other appointments a little easier.
Thursday is a follow up visit with Jen’s surgeon Dr. Shasti to look at how she is healing and plot the way forward. Friday is a radiation oncology planning session with Dr. Ebling, who is filling in while Dr. Majithia is on maternity leave. He will map out the suggested course of Jen’s radiation therapy. Also, physical therapist Bobby will walk Jen through the best ways to negotiate stairs when leaving and returning to the house, and getting in and out of the Jeep.
We have a full week ahead of us.
