At 7:00 am this morning, Dr. Mark Shasti will begin prepping Jennifer for the first of two surgeries. Today’s surgery will be to relieve the pressure on her spinal cord by removing the back wall of the vertebrae, then stabilizing the surrounding vertebrae with screws and rods. This is in preparation for the second surgery on Friday when he will remove the mass, and stabilize the front wall with a vertebrae-sized titanium cage.
Today’s surgery will begin at 7:30 am and continue through 2:00 pm.
